Our Boy Is 5!!!!!

Our little man is 5.  So hard to believe.  There are so many little things that I love about that little boy, some he's had since he was an infant, some are popping up here and there.

• my little guy rubs his eyes when he wakes up in the morning like something you see in cartoons
• he sits on his knees in the chair at the table
• he's the biggest cuddle bug I know
• he laughs the same exact way he did when he was a baby
• he loves high-fives
• he's a wiz at any piece of technology
• he's a great big brother (most of the time)  
• he loves to tell you things in his matter-of-fact voice
• he loves to act out any story he's just seen or read
• he loves to make us proud
• he's one of he best things that has ever happened to me

He turned 5 while we were out in the desert and we celebrated him whole-heartedly

We started the morning with a little golf.  Daddy taught Drew and he took to it like a fish to water!

Then it was time for some oversized chess

Then off for lunch and a birthday sundae

with the whole family

And of course Emma had her celebratory sundae too!

Then off for some shopping at the toy store.  The toy store was in this beautiful plaza, Tlaquepaque.

Then it was off to the airport's Mesa Grill for dinner

After dinner we went to the lookout to catch the sunset

I think the kids were trying to look at the moon!

They found some cool rocks while we were there

Then it was home to celebrate.  Daddy made some balloon animals to make things festive

Drew got to blow out the candles here in Arizona

And of course Emma wasn't left out!
