Hello Four!

Happy Birthday, Drew!
What a great birthday celebration we have had!
It started out with us taking Drew to the movies to see his favorite... Cars 2.  He loved it!  It was the neatest thing to look over at little him sitting in that big ol' movie theater seat and leaning forward watching, not being able to wait to see what was going to happen next.  He would laugh and laugh and then gasp in shock at all the right parts.  He would lean over and whisper to me, "Mommy, what's going to happen to them?"  or "Did you see that!?!"  He loved it!
Then, the next day we went to Great Wolf Lodge.  That was a great time.  The kids loved the water park.  It was three days of play play play for them.  They were so excited the whole time just going from one fun thing to the next.  Even their room was exciting.  They stayed in the wolf's den.  It was their little room (inside of our room) that looked like a cave with bunk beds in it.  I just can't even say how happy it made us that they were so happy and having so much fun together.
Daddy and I had fun too.  We took turns riding the big rides.  And let me just tell you, the Howlin' Tornado is a force to be reckoned with.  Not knowing what I was doing, I got in the seat in the raft that went down backwards!  That was quite a ride, that's all I'm going to say.
Then, after 3 days of non-stop fun, the kids were pooped and it was time to go home and celebrate with some cake and presents.
We enjoyed a homemade meal together (a very welcome site after 3 days of Lodge food) and had some ice cream cake (an M&M that had nothing to do with his birthday, I just thought it was so cute)
Drew got all of the main characters from Cars 2 and has been busy with them ever since.  Nana and Papa also got him some great Lightning McQueen outfits and swimsuits.
It was a great week and I think one that he'll never forget!

(Pictures to come.... I've waited this long b/c I need to transfer pictures from Colin's phone...  so pitiful.  Haha)

Goodbye Three

Drew had a great year.  First of all, I was fortunate enough to stay home with him this year which was wonderful.  We spent the year playing, learning, and just having fun.
This year, Drew had so many great experiences.  He went to Arizona and had a great time at a beautiful resort, played on his daddy's soccer team, went on his first trip to Disney World and met Mickey, attended his first NFL game, understood the magic of Santa for the first time, played in lots of snow and built one awesome snowman, sat back while his sister was the star of her fairy party, went rock climbing, went to his first Cirque Du Soleil, attended crawfish boils and a wedding, visited Thomas The Tank Engine, saw CATS, watched fireworks from a rooftop, saw his new favorite movie, Cars 2, and lived it up at the Great Wolf Lodge Resort just to mention a few.
We've been celebrating his birthday for about a week now.  He deserves every bit of it too.
It's so hard to say goodbye to my 3 year old son, but it's really exciting to think about what 4 will bring us.
Happy birthday, Drew.  We love you more than you'll ever know!
