Our cable car ride led us down to the pier. We walked around for a few minutes and decided to go visit the sea lions. We walked out onto what I guess is Pier 40. It was very quiet and peaceful, a huge contrast to the very "happening" Pier 39. There were students studying, couples spending quiet time together, tourists (like us) taking pictures, and people just looking out into the bay or at the sea lions. It was a farther view of the sea lions, but that was ok with me considering that they are not the best smelling creatures in the world. We happened to be on the better side of the wind for that as well, which was nice.
We enjoyed the sites and sounds for a while before going to dinner.
You really can't see the sea lions, but the boat in the background was such a pretty sight.
This was a much better picture of our little buddies that we visited (from afar)
